Technopreneur 2009 to be held in Kochi on Dec 15
November 19, 2009 at 5:00 pm | In 1 | 2 CommentsTechnopreneur 2009 workshop organized by Technopark TBI in association with Innovation Lab, TechnoFIRST magazine and ITIH- TBI, intends to create awareness on Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, among the Innovators from every segment and the campuses of Academic Institutions across Central Kerala. The inspiration behind this initiative has been to utilize and effectively convert the skills and expertise of students and rural innovators to start entrepreneurial ventures.
The first generation entrepreneurs need various support services like marketing, business facilitation, technical expertise, preparation of business plan, and resources for financing and managing businesses during their start-up phase, to enhance the prospects of their survival. Incubators and similar mechanisms are intended to provide a conducive atmosphere, range of critical support services and facilities to nurture and support a start-up. Innovative ideas are incubated and are supported and nurtured into real innovations by various stages of pre-incubation and incubation providing them necessary technical support, infrastructural facilities, mentoring and so on. This programme aims to address these issues.
This time we are aiming mainly at prospective Innovators, Faculty members of Engineering Colleges, Teachers of Vocational Higher Secondary Schools and Technical Schools across Central Kerala, comprising the districts Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur.

Faculty Development Programme @ Technopark from Dec 8-19
November 19, 2009 at 4:54 pm | In 1 | Leave a CommentNational Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NCIIE) , the training arm of Technopark TBI in association with EDII Ahmedabad with the support of Department of Science & Technology(DST) Govt of India conducted a Faculty Development Program(FDP) designed to train and develop professionals in the area of Entrepreneurship Development. The FDP will be held in Technopark from December 8-19, 2009. The programme is designed to train and develop professionals in the area of Entrepreneurship Development so that they can act as ‘Resource Persons’ in guiding and motivating young students, particularly from science, engineering and technology stream, to take up entrepreneurship as their career.

TSECC Workshop on software engineering held in Mysore

The workshop was organized jointly by TSECC (Technopark software engineering competency center) , (NCIIE) National Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship & Technopark TBI for business start-ups, students and academic research community. SE-Mentor provided consultants for the initiative. The workshop was attended by 35 professionals from the incubation companies in and around Mysore.

TMC Meeting Held at Technopark TUC
November 10, 2009 at 5:14 pm | In 1 | Leave a CommentThe third TePP Monitoring Committee Meeting of Technopark TUC was held at Park Centre, Technopark on 7th Novemeber 2009 at Park Centre, Technopark. Three projects namely Grid Power Monitoring System by Mr.Vipin G, Voltage Frequency Protector by Mr.Aneesh Benny and Interface Device for Online Gadgets Servicing by Mr.Bijo Stephen and Mr. John were presented for Micro TePP Funding.

The review of the project
“Designing of Ball Press washer for cleaning and crushing biological raw materials” was also presented in the meeting. The committee expressed satisfaction after reviewing the projects. Mr.N.T.Nair, Mr.Philip John, Mr.K.C.Chandrasekharan Nair, Ms.Annie Moses, Mr.Sreejith and Ms.Surya Thankam were present in the meeting.
TePP Training Programme held at SP Jain, Mumbai
November 7, 2009 at 11:06 am | In 1 | 1 CommentThe 2nd Tepp Training Programme for Innovators & Outreach Faculty was organized at SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai from Oct 21-25, 2009. The training topic was “From Working Prototype to Enterprise”. The programme started with the lighting of lamp by The Director, SPJIMR and Prof M S Rao and other participants.
The programme strongly emphasised on the value proposition and identifying the customer and how to capture him. Also how to commercialize a working prototype. The whole programme was highly interactive with discussions regarding innovations and the innovators were given activities to discuss and solve various puzzles. The programme was very useful for the budding Entrepreneurs as it discussed various ways of achieving success. 21 Participants and 2 DSIR Officials attended the programme. From Technopark TUC Ms. Annie Moses and a team of innovators including Dr.PT. Ajithkumar, Mr.Syamkumar, Mr.Chandu Sasidharan attended the training programme. There were sessions by Prof MS Rao, Prof Rushi Anandan, Prof S K Palekar, Prof Parimal Merchant, Prof Suresh Lalwani, Prof Lata Dhir and Entrepreneurs from SINE shared their views for the benefit of the participants. Dr. AS Rao, Former Advisor, TePP- DSIR and Professor from SPJIMR took a session and delivered the closing remarks.
