T-TBI – NASSCOM Emerge Forum

NASSCOM in association with Technopark TBI organised the 7th session of the NASSCOM Emerge Forum in Trivandrum on Thursday , Sep 30, 2010 at Malabar Hall, Park Centre.

The topic of discussion was “The Road Less Travelled – Continuous Innovation – Key to success” . Mr. Rangarajan Sriraman, Founder & Vice Chairman, Athena Info Consulting Pvt Ltd was the resource person.

The programme was inaugurated by Technopark CEO Shri. Mervin Alexander. Mr K C Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO Technopark and Mr. R. Senthil Kumar, Deputy Manager- Member Services, NASSCOM were present.

The session was  based on some case studies of companies who have taken  Innovation as a discipline which lead them to overall success in their growth. Mr. Rangarajan  covered  the various models and concepts invented. Theentire session was highly interactive with participation from Technopark based Small and Medium Product based companies.  The participants held fruitful discussions with Mr. Rangarajan.

Principals Meet to promote IEDC Concept in Kerala

To promote the IEDC concept in Kerala  NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology(DST), Govt of India , Technopark TBI and  Amal Jyothi College IEDC , Kanjirappally Trivandrum jointly organized a Principal’s meeting for the Science and Technology Colleges at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering Kanjirappally on  Sep 2,  2010. Mr. Sujeet Banerjee, Member Secretary, NSTEDB, DST, Govt of India was the Chief Guest for the programme. He introduced the various initiatives of NSTEDB to promote entrepreneurship in academic institutions and the funding support available from DST.  Mr. K.C Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO Technopark was also present for the meeting and he mentioned about the role of Technopark TBI in promoting Entrepreneurship throughout the colleges of Kerala and elaborated on how the Engineering Colleges can create a culture of Innovation driven Entrepreneurship. The meeting was organized as part of the Annual day Celebrations of IEDC Amal Jyothi. The first Annual Body  Advisory Meeting of Amal Jyothi IEDC was also conducted . There was also an exhibition of innovative prototypes developed by student innovators of the college.  Amal Jyothi IEDC is the first and currently the only IEDC that has been sanctioned by NSTEDB to an engineering college in Kerala. The mission of IEDC is to develop an institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture in academic institutions to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among the students and faculty.

PRC Meetings of TePP Projects Conducted

Shri. Pratap Singh, Scientist C, TePP DSIR visited Technopark TUC on Sep 14 & 16, 2010. During the visit  the Project Review Committee (PRC)Meetings of various TePP Funded Phase 1 projects were conducted. The PRC meetings for the following projects were conducted. Development of a Low Cost Integrated Biochip System For  Cancer Screening by Dr.V I Bishor. Phantom Power Eliminator by Mr. Nelvin Joseph, Smart Solar Irrigation by Mr. Chandu Sasidharan, Digitally Controlled 3D BILL BOARD by Mr. Mehar Ali, Designing of Ball Press Washer for Cleaning and Crushing Biological Raw Materials by Ms. R.Priya, Inspye by Mr. Kesava Prasad. The technology angels Shri. N.T Nair,Chief Editor, Executive Knowledge Lines, Dr. Ajith Prabhu,Joint Director, KSCSTE, Shri.Manoj Kumar S, Chief Engineering, AEGIS Power Engineers, Shri Philip John, CEO, Accel Transmatics and Shri. Samson S, Prof Mech Engg , College of Engineering, Trivandrum were present to attend various PRC Meetings. Shri. Pratap Singh opined that all the projects are progressing satisfactorily towards successful completion. He also held fruitful discussions with the TePP funded innovators and some prospective innovators.

‘A tribute to Teachers’ , T-TBI Incubatee Sookshmatech powers Gurusmarana

When new ideas get life through technology, it hits the bull’s eye. Gurusmarana  website is such a venture materialized through the technical expertise of Sookshmatech Integral Techno Solutions, Technopark. This web based open access archive on the achievements of the veteran academicians who have worked in the colleges of Kerala, was inaugurated by Sri. M.A. Baby, Minister for Education and Culture, Govt. of Kerala on Sep 2, 2010. This is a humble attempt to resurrect digitally the memory of the great teachers, including their writings and teaching reflections. The project was soon formulated by the IHRD and the first phase is now completed. The focus of this phase has been Trivandrum and will extend to the whole state in the ongoing expansions. The soul force behind this fabulous work, which will surely become an aid to remember the stalwarts of higher education in Kerala, is Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair, Director, Centre for Bioinformatics, University of Kerala.

The archive is a joint venture of IHRD and Sookshmatech and is hosted in the ihrd.ac.in web server. The contributions of almost 220 teachers are archived in this website which would really be a treasure for the academic history if the state. The technical framework and requirements that the content of this archive demanded was successfully apprehended by the Sookshmatech team. Sookshmatech is an incubatee of T-TBI operating from  Technopark and is focused on providing customized software solutions to the requirements in the Tourism, Education and Health Care sectors. Entrepreneurship Awareness Session at SB College, Changanasserry

An entrepreneurship awareness session was conducted at Berchmans Institute of Management Studies(BIMS) , St Berchmans College, Changanasserry. The awareness camp was held on August 13, 2010. Mr.K.C Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary & Registrar, Technopark TBI took as session on Entrepreneurship & its prospects for MBA’s. He was welcomed by Mr. Alan Bivera, Students, BIMS. Vice Principal of the College Mr. Jacob Thomas and HOD in charge Mr. Siby Joseph and Faculty co-ordinator Mr. Sunil. S.S were present. The session was attended by the 15th and 16th MBA Batches of BIMS, SB College.  During the session the students held interactive discussions with Mr.KCC Nair on entrepreneurship and its prospects for MBA.
