Kerala IT participated in GITEX

Kerala IT team represented by Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander and Cyberpark CEO Binu A Pazhoor participated in the GITEX 2010. Consulate General of India Sanjay Varma inaugurated the Kerala IT Pavilion at the GITEX Technology Week-2010 at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre on Sunday.

The team held a meeting with Hussain Mohammed Al Mahmoudi, Director of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). It was last year that Kerala IT had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SCCI to set up an Innovation Centre at Infopark Kochi. In their meeting, General Hussain extended all cooperation to the joint ventures to develop strong bilateral relations.

The two-member team from Kerala IT also met the chairman of Indian Business and Professional Council, Sudesh Aggarwal, who has offered full support to promote IT business with a single-window opportunity. The delegation will also be meeting Dubai and Abu Dhabi Chambers of Commerce and Industry members and also leading Malayali business leaders in the Gulf to discuss and propose promotion of IT in the State.

KNIC Program Launched at Nehru Arts and Science College

Knowledge Network and Industry Connect (KNIC) program, an E-learning platform, has been inaugurated at the Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore by Mr. Mervin Alexander, CEO, Technopark, Trivandrum on Oct 9, 2010. Adv.P.Krishna Das, Managing Trustee, Nehru Group of Institutions. Mr.Arun Balachandran, CEO, Innovation Lab, Kochi , Dr.P.Krishna Kumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru Group of Institutions, Dr.B.Anirudhan, Principal, Nehru Arts & Science College also attended the function.

KNIC is a joint initiative between Technopark TBI, NCIIE and Smart Guruji Learning Systems. KNIC will have all the necessary facilities to mentor & transform the students in various domains within the college itself through a highly interactive LIVE Video conference and SmartClassrooms . Through this innovative program the students are directly mentored by the industry experts so that the students will get a real exposure of the industry process and right industry mentoring. With the help of Knowledge Network the Knowledge repository management System, all academic activities of the students and teachers will be managed and achieved properly, so that the knowledge asset can be achieved properly for the effective reuse.

New Business Opportunities in Bavaria

The Sixth INSPIRE Session jointly organized by Technopark TBI and the Group of Technology Companies (GTECH) was held on October 15, 2010 at Cochin Hall, Technopark. The session titled ‘Explore Bavaria’ was organised in partnership with the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology. The session explored new ICT business opportunities and joint venture projects in Bavaria.

Friedrich Rahn, Deputy Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany and John Kottayil, Executive Director, State of Bavaria – India Office were the speakers for the session.Friedrich Rahn gave an overview of the Economic & Business scene in Germany and  John Kottayil detailed about the Market Opportunities in Bavaria for IT Companies.

Mr. Mervin Alexander, CEO- Technopark, Mr. KCC Nair, CFO- Technopark,  Mr. Anoop P Ambika, Secretary, GTECH & MD, Kreara Solutions  and Mr.  Binu Sankar, CEO, GTECH were present during the session. CEOs from MSME’s inside the Technopark campus held fruitful discussions with the guests on New Business and investment opportunities in Bavaria.

Faculty Development Programme in Entrepreneurship from Oct 19-30, 2010 in Technopark

National Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (NCIIE), the training arm of Technopark TBI in association with EDII Ahmedabad with the support of NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology (DST) Govt of India is conducting a Faculty Development Program(FDP) designed to train and develop professionals in the area of Entrepreneurship Development. The FDP will be held in Technopark from October 19-30, 2010.

The program is designed to train and develop professionals in the area of Entrepreneurship Development so that they can act as ‘Resource Persons’ in guiding and motivating young students, particularly from science, engineering and technology stream, to take up entrepreneurship as their career.
