Nasscom Global Leadership Award for MobME

MobME Wireless Solutions (P) Ltd graduated from T-TBI received the Nasscom Global Leadership Awards during the Global Conference organised by NASSCOM as part of the India Leadership Forum 2011 Feb 8-10, 2011. This is the second time that a company has received the award twice at India Leadership Forum, the only other company to have done so is Texas Instruments. In 2009 MobME received the award in the start-up level category for its Innovation ‘Mobshare’ – India’s Leading Mobile Content Sharing Platform. This time they won the award in the Market Facing Innovation Category with the mGovernance Service Delivery Platform.
Mr. Sanjay Vijayakumar, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, MobME received the award from Shri.Anand Sharma, Hon‘ble Minister for Commerce & Industries, Govt of India ,Shri Harsh Manglik, Chairman, Nasscom and Mr. Vivek Francis, MobME Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer were present.
Innoz wins Red Herring Global 100 Award

Business plan Competition finals

The Kerala University Entrepreneurship Development Cell supported by DST organized a Business plan competition for the Science, Engineering and Management Students of the State. The main objective of this was to initiate an enthusiasm among the students of Universities in Kerala towards entrepreneurship. Last three years this competition attracted large number of Colleges from all over the State. The prize distribution ceremony was held at Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCTCE), Trivandrum, and the event was coordinated by the college IEDC. Dr. A. Jayakrishnan, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University was the chief guest for the function. Mr. K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO, Technopark and Programme Coordinator-New Initiatives, Technopark, Prof. S.Balachandran, Principal, SCT College of Engineering, Dr.J.Rajan, Co-ordinator, KU-EDC, and Mr. G. Sashikumar, Project Advisor, KU-EDC were present for the function. The students from IMK Varkala won the first prize for the project ‘Versatilus’. The second prize was won by the students from LBS Institute of Technology for Women for the project ‘Smart Security’ and the third prize by the team from IMK Poojappura for the project ‘Chameleon Footwears’.
41st Expert Committee meeting

The 41st Expert Committee Meeting for the evaluation and selection of start-up ventures and the renewal of incubation membership for the existing companies operating in the T-TIG was conducted on Feb 9, 2011. The committee evaluated the business proposals and recommended to give admission to Waybeo Technology Solutions Private Limited & Smart Guruji Learning Systems Pvt Ltd for Technology Incubation in T-TBI and Bizarre FX Technologies to the business incubation in T-BIC.
Virtual Incubatee launches new product

Vizvera Solutions P Ltd a virtual incubatee of T-TBI launched its first product-Intelligent Shield on 20th January 2011 at Trivandrum press club. The product is an innovative bike security system-Intelligent Shield in which, a USB aided key(battery less) is used for bike protection. The technology is patented by Vizvera. The first sale of the product was carried out by Minister of Industries Shri. Elamaram Karim. He said that “people who are coming with ideas like this will get full support from the Government part and these kinds of ventures are very much necessary for the economical development of the state.” Trivandrum City police commissioner Shri. Ajith Kumar IPS, was also present in the inauguration ceremony. He mentioned that this kinds of security systems are needed for the present time to reduce the theft and robbery. Vizvera was formed in January 2009 as a student start up from Mangalam college of Engineering and was enrolled as a virtual incubatee of Technopark TBI on 9th October 2009. The directors of the company are Adarsh S, Suraj R ,and Sreejith S .
Artin Dynamics bags business plan award

Artin Dynamics bagged the Magnitude 2011 Award -the corporate-level business plan competition for the best start-ups in Technopark.The event was organised by the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK), Varkala, in association with T-TBI.
On the basis of the business plan presentation and a live voting system by the employees of Technopark, Artin Dynamics was unanimously declared the best start-up on the campus. The award carried a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and certificate of merit. Mr. Rahul Easwar, Activist and Media Personality distributed the prizes. The judging panel consisted of Sanjay George, Advisory Consultant, UST Global; Harikrishnan Nair, Head of Innovation, UST; and Sasikumar,Prject Advisor, Entrepreneur Development Cell. “Magnitude 2011 was a highly motivating event for the upcoming entrepreneurs. It has given them an opportunity to show their entrepreneurial capability. The finals of the Business plan competition held at Travancore Hall, Technopark was inaugurated by Mr. K.C Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO and Programme Co-ordinator, New Initiatives ,Technopark.
The participants of the programme got insights as to how business can be successful if one has entrepreneurial qualities,” said Mr. G. Sashi Kumar, Project Advisor, ED cell, University of Kerala.
Seed Funding santioned to T-TBI
February 1, 2011 at 4:11 pm | Posted in General | 1 CommentTechnopark’s TBI today signed an agreement with the technology development board of the union ministry of science and technology for a Rs.1 crore seed funding assistance.This is the first time the board has selected T-TBI for the assistance, an official said. The funding is for a period of three years.
Technology Business Incubation aims at identifying potential entrepreneurs with innovative ideas, nurture them through different phases of growth, until the business takes off to a maturity level, where it becomes a financially sustainable venture. The grant will enable T-TBI to seed fund for at least ten companies which lack funding support from other sources.
“This is a very important and necessary support for the student start ups in the state to get start up risk capital assistance in their early stage of company formation,” said Mervin Alexander, chief executive officer of Technopark.
Presently there are 47 companies operating from the T-TBI here, which includes a few engineering colleges where bright young students are engaged in projects.
K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, secretary and registrar of T-TBI said 50 companies that have already graduated from the TBI have scaled up their operation in Technopark Phase I campus, which employs more than 3,000 professionals with a total investment of about Rs.130 crore.
”The approximate turnover of the companies will be around Rs.150 crore and their contribution to the government exchequer will be around Rs.30 crore. This TDB seed support will enable the companies to grow further and contribute more to the economic development of the state,” said Nair.
