Deepak Ravindran, CEO, Innoz Technologies, has been honoured by MIT’s Technology Review among India’s Top Innovators of the Year 2011.He is the Co-Founder- Chief Executive Officer of Innoz Technologies, incubated at Technopark TBI. Started by a group of engineering students from LBS College of Engineering, Kerala led by Mr. Deepak Ravindran, Innoz created a mobile based search engine to deliver information on any topic. He calls it the “instant cup of knowledge”. His mobile based service, SMSGYAN, promises information on almost any topic to the user on his mobile phone without asking him to click on any link.
Since 1999, the editors of Technology Review have honoured the young innovators whose inventions and research are exciting and have the highest impact locally and globally. Innoz, a Red Herring Global 100 company is rated inside Top 8 Emerging Product Companies in India by NASSCOM and also under Top 10 Mobile application developers in India by IAMAI.
Waybeo Technology Solutions, incubated at T-TBI has opened a 100% subsidiary in UK to serve its European customers locally. Waybeo joined incubation in December, 2010 as the 98th company in T-TBI. Waybeo has launched the beta version of Bounzd and is currently installing it into some websites of their clients for the real time testing purposes. The official launch of the product is expected to be done during the Indiasoft IT event in Pune.
A P Bushairusalam, CEO, Waybeo said, “Our wireless team, which is based on IP based communication (4G) domain, has successfully delivered custom solutions to various companies in the last one year including a telecom company based in Europe. Bounzd is an interactive web widget based on SIP and other auxiliary technologies, which enables, the website visitors to call the customer care team or authorities of that website for free of cost”.
Mr. Shiv Shankar M S is the ED & CMO and Nithun K.V, Krishnan R.V.Iyer, Manu Dev, Bijoy B.S and Biju Kanakasseri are the other members of the team which aims to build a global giant from Kerala.
An Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) has been formally inaugurated at SAINTGITS College of Engineering, Kottayam on March 18, 2011 in the College Seminar Auditorium with the support of Technopark TBI. The IEDC office space was also inaugurated by Mr. KCC Nair by cutting the ribbon. Mr.Sreejith. S, Technical Officer, Technopark TBI delivered a talk on “Role of Incubation Centres for budding entrepreneurs “. A three day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was also conducted at SAINTGITS College of Engineering from March 18-20, 2011.
An international delegation consisting of 43 participants from 32 countries attended an interaction meet arranged at Technopark on March 15, 2011. The delegates were on a study tour which was part of the 6-week “International Program on Promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship through Incubation” organised by The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) during February 21 – March 31, 2011.The programme served to initiate international networking among incubators in developing countries to rapidly adapt internationally recognized best practices in incubation.
Technopark CEO Mr. Mervin Alexander welcomed the gathering and interacted with the participants and described about Kerala IT and Technopark. Mr. M. Vasudevan, Senior Manager Business Development made a brief presentation about Technopark. Mr. Sreejith, Technical Officer, Technopark TBI presented about the activities of Technopark TBI in promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the state. Mr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO Technopark and Secretary and Registrar, Technopark TBI addressed the gathering and offered helping hands in establishing IT Parks and Technology Business Incubators in their respective locations.

Artin Dynamics incubated at Technopark TBI Trivandrum won the ISBA 2011 National Award for the best start-up company in ICT Category. Mr. Nelvin Joseph, CEO, Artin Dynamics along with Mr. K.C Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary & Registrar, T-TBI received the award from Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Founder and Director, Centre for Environment Education (CEE) at 5th ISBA International Conference on Business Incubation held in Ahmedabad. The Indian STEP (Science and Technology Entrepreneur’s Park) and Business Incubators Association (ISBA) organised the 5th ISBA 2011 Annual Conference in Ahmedabad from March 6-8, 2011. The event was co-ordinated by Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad and supported by National Design Business Incubator (NDBI), National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
ISBA established in 2004 aims to promote business incubation activities in the country through exchange of information, sharing of experience, and other networking assistance among Indian Incubators and organizations engaged in the promotion of start-up enterprises. ISBA is governed by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
During the conference around 200 national and international delegates besides a large number of visitors from academia organizations, investors etc participated. Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Founder and Director, Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Mr.H.K Mittal, Advisor and Head, NSTEDB, DST & Secretary TDB, Shri R.M.P. Jawahar, President, ISBA, Dr. Rajendra Jagdale, Secretary General, ISBA and Incubation Managers from incubators across the globe participated in the conference. NASSCOM in association with Technopark TBI organised the 10th session of the NASSCOM Emerge in Trivandrum on March 14, 2011 at Malabar Hall, Park Centre. The topic of discussion was “Effective Business Across Cultures “. Ms.Laxmi Chaudry, Director at 1Stop HR was the resource person. The programme was inaugurated by Technopark CEO Shri. Mervin Alexander. Mr. Binu Sankar, CEO, GTECH, Mr. R. Senthil Kumar, Deputy Manager- Member Services, NASSCOM was also present.
