Artin Dynamics and Light Logics wins Gold Medal in DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme 2011

Artin Dynamics and Light Logics have emerged as gold medallists in the Department of Science & Technology- Lockheed Martin India Innovation Programme 2011. Both the companies received  cash prize of Rs. One Lakh and a gold medal from Dr. Ray O. Johnson Lockheed Martin Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. The winners of this prestigious award also get an opportunity to launch early stage technologies into the global marketplace. The DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program is a two-year, nation-wide project, created to accelerate the launch of Indian early-stage technologies into the global marketplace. The Program is funded by Department of Science and Technology (Gov. of India) and Lockheed Martin Corporation, and was developed with the assistance of the Indo- US Science and Technology Forum, IC2 Institute at the University of Texas, and FICCI. Technopark CEO, Mervin Alexander congratulating both the companies said it was a proud moment for the park for its companies winning such prestigious accolades. “Our efforts to create innovation a way of life is definitely seeing positive results with companies such as Artin, Light Logics incubated from Technopark winning accolades in the global forum. We hope to see more incubated  companies from Kerala IT achieving major milestones in future”, he added.

According to Mr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary & Registrar, T-TBI, “Great ideas will remain on paper if an environment with the right conditions is not provided at the right time. We have supported Light Logics and Artin Dynamics from the very inception and have also funded
the project. It has been a proud moment for all of us here at Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI).”

Light Logics, a pioneering Holography Technology Company and a leading worldwide provider of core holography machines won the award for its ‘Photonic Smart Card named ‘HoloSecure’ – a smart card that uses photonic data storage technology based on holograms to provide extremely high levels of data storage, on a thin card. The patent pending smart card is much superior than the conventional electronic chip based cards, due to its increased storage capability, higher security and inertness to environmental stress and has lot of commercial applications such as Citizen IDs, health card, vehicle registration, license cards, etc. It is the second consecutive year that Light Logics wins this prestigious award. Last year the Holographic Weapon Sight technology of Light Logics grabbed this award. Light Logics is a  commercial initiative of a set of NRI professionals, under the technological leadership of Dr. P.T. Ajith Kumar. Light Logics now holds the rare recognition of two successive wins, the first in the entire history of DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Programme.

Artin Dynamics is one of the first few companies in India to work solely in the Artificial Intelligence Domain. Their pioneering product –SPARA is aimed at reducing power wastages that occur during the non-usage hours of a computer. The product is targeted for organizations dealing with large scale usage of computers where manageability of power consumption is a huge concern. Spara consists of a software module which works
towards reducing power wastage on ‘idle systems’ and a hardware module that cuts of ‘phantom power’ losses on ‘turned off’ systems. Artin also features as one of infoDev’s top 50 innovative technology led small to medium enterprises. Commenting on the competition, Artin Dynamics CEO Mr. Nelvin Joseph said, “We faced one of the toughest selection processes in winning this awrd. Apart from the cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, we would receive personalized business development services from FICCI & IC2 institute at the University of Texas at Austin that would help us to create and foster partnerships in the US and other global markets through this rendezvous.”
