Waybeo won the Award for excellence in IT for 2012

Waybeo Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd won the Award for excellence in IT instituted by TBI in association with Marian College , Kuttikkanam announces Marian Awards for excellence In IT.Technopark TBI  and with Marian College, Kuttikkanam. The award function was held as part of the event organized by MATRIX the MCA association of the college at Mammen Mappilai Hall, Kottayam on Feb 4, 2012.  Government Chief Whip Shri. P.C. George MLA handed over the Award and Cash prize of INR 25,000/- to the Waybeo team. Mr.Mons Joseph  MLA, Dr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO, Technopark, Rev  Dr. Mathew Payikattu, Rev Fr. Alexander Paikada, Chief Editor, Deepika,  Rev Fr. Ruban J Thannickal, Manager, Marian College, Dr. Ruble Raj, Principal- Marian College and Dr. Mendus Jacob, Director, MCA Department, Mr. Junie Mathew George, Secretary, MATRIX  were present.

Founded in 2009, Waybeo Technology Solutions joined Technopark TBI, Trivandrum in 2010 and is a new generation business communication solution provider. Their flagship award winning product, BounzD™ (www.bounzd.com), helps enterprises to communicate with its online customers through Internet.

INSPIRE Session: Business Opportunities in London

The seventeenth INSPIRE Session on  ’London: The World Capital of Business’organised by Group of Technology Companies (GTech) in partnership with Technopark TBI was held on February 9, 2012 at Taj Vivanta, Vazhuthacaud. Mr. Gautam Sehgal, Chief Representative, London and Partners was the key speaker for the event. London & Partners is the Government agency of the city of London. Representatives from more than 35 companies participated in the event. Mr. Vijay Kumar, CEO of Testhouse India spoke about the British Business Group and Mr. Suri Amarnath proposed the concluding remarks. Mr. Siddika Banerjee, Investment Advisor , UK Trade and Investment Agency and Dr. KCC Nair, CFO Technopark, Mr. Harikumar P , CEO,Travancore Analytics, Mr. Binu Sankar, CEO, GTech were present during the  session.

Leadership and Innovation: Ideas for India- A session with Sam Pitroda

Mr Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure and Innovations addressed young leaders, entrepreneurs and students and took session on ‘Leadership and Innovation: Ideas for India on Jan 25, 2012 at Travancore Hall, Technopark, Trivandrum. Sam Pitroda urged them to work towards building innovation as the latest culture in India. He said it would only be innovation that would take the country to dizzying heights.He said people with great ideas would definitely have the opportunity to implement their ideas with the right funding.

The other speakers were Mr Shaffi Mather, Fellow, Aspen India Leadership Initiative, who is an advocate with the Supreme Court apart from being a public policy analyst and an entrepreneur, and Mr V. K. Mathews, President, GTech. The programme was organized as the sixteenth Inspire Session and was jointly hosted by The Aspen Institute India and Group of Technology Companies (GTech).

Star Entrepreneurship Award

Lepeesh Parat, Founder & CEO of Zesty Beanz Technologies was conferred the ‘Star Entrepreneur Award’ at the 5^th  Indira International Innovation Summit held in Pune. Lepeesh was recognised for his leadership and contribution in the field of Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Presented by the Indira College of Engineering and Management (ICEM) at Pune, the annual summit aims to develop an insight into creating a mindset for innovation.

Zesty Beanz is mainly focused in providing Open Source Enterprise Resource Planning (OpenERP) services and solutions for enterprises based on Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). ZestyBeanz is also a winner of the prestigious ISBA 2011 award for outstanding company in the ICT category

MoMo Chapter Launched in Technopark,Trivandrum

Recognizing the potential of mobile based business and development opportunities, a passionate group of mobile and web professionals have joined to form the Mobile Monday Trivandrum chapter which was inaugurated on Monday, Feb 6, 2012 at Travancore Hall, Technopark, Trivandrum. Technopark TBI was the partner for launch event.

Mr. Jyothi Sankar, General Manager, BSNL Thiruvananthapuram inaugurated the chapter in the presence of Dr. KC Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary and Registrar,Technopark TBI, Mr. Kesava Reddy, Co-founder, MoMo Bangalore, Mr. Srinivasan, Director, Cell App, Technopark and Mr. Sathish Babu, Director, IC FOSS.

The main objective of the group is to foster the growth of developers and local businesses which employ mobile technology. The Thiruvananthapuram chapter has more than 200 registered members. This is the 9^th such chapter in the country and shall be conducting events to ensure a catalytic role in the growth of mobile based opportunities in this region. Different mobile application development companies in the campus showcased the apps developed by them during the programme. The chapter will provide free education in mobile technology, network people with mobile industry experts, companies and the government encourage rural entrepreneurs and local businesses employing mobile technology and cultivate innovation with the support of Technopark TBI

Cluster ISO Certification for TBI Companies

A MoU has been signed between Technopark TBI and M/s. TUV India Pvt Ltd on Jan 13, 2012 with the objective of offering ISO 9001:2008 Certification for Technopark TBI Incubatee Companies on Cluster Basis. The MoU was signed and exchanged between Mr.K.G.Girish Babu, Chairman, T-TBI and Mr. Venkatesh Prasad, Branch Manager – Coimbatore, TUV India. As per this M/s. TUV India Pvt Ltd will be the Certification Body for TECHNOPARK TBI Incubatee Companies and conduct Certification Audit process as per ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System standard. This has opened a window of opportunity for the Micro, Small and Medium companies to earn ISO Certification through the Incubation Centre,

Technopark TBI empanelled as a CSR partner by TISS

Technopark TBI is empanelled as a CSR Partner by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai to implement CSR activities in association with the leading CPSEs in the State in the areas of Entrepreneurship Education, Entrepreneurship Development, Skill Development in Educational sector etc. This will enable T-TBI to associate with Central PSEs in their CSR activities.  T-TBI can design and submit CSR initiatives for the Centre Public Sector organization in the state. Already Technopark TBI is implementing a number of initiatives which has a lot of social relevance. The TBI can look in to organizing these programmes with the support from the Central PSEs. The empanelment will make T-TBI eligible for projects under the CSR Hub and also with the CPSEs that have signed MOU’s with TISS National CSR Hub. The approval will be valid till March 31, 2015 and will be renewed on satisfactory performance thereafter.

Dr. KCC Nair certified as infoDev Trainer in Business Incubation

Dr. K C Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary & Registrar, Technopark TBI & CFO of Technopark has received certification from InfoDev (World Bank) Group as a Certified Business Incubation Trainer. The infoDev Trainers are authorised persons to deliver infoDev’s Incubator Manager Training Modules. He attended the Trainers training programme at Ooty held during Oct-Nov, 2011 which was organised by infoDev in association with Asia Pacific Incubation Network (APIN) which was designed for Certifying business incubation trainers. T-TBI has incubated 125 start-up companies in the past 5 years with a success rate of over 95% and has contributed to creating a conducive eco-system in Technopark TBI backed by excellent business partners to ensure that every entrepreneur that comes in through the incubator route becomes successful.

INSPIRE Session: Exploring South East Asia through Singapore

The fifteenth INSPIRE Session on Doing Business with France organised by Group of Technology Companies (GTech) in partnership with Technopark TBI was held on December 21, 2011 at Technopark. Ms. Michelle Tan, Centre Director Singapore Economic Development Board was  the resource person. She detailed on the topic ‘winning ways of doing business and Exploring South East Asia through Singapore’.  Representatives from more than 25 companies participated in the event. Mr. Anoop Ambika, Secretary, GTech, Dr.KCC Nair, Secretary and Registrar, T-TBI, Lepeesh Parat, CEO, Zesty Beanz Tehnologies and Mr. Binu Sankar, CEO, GTech were present during the session.
