TREMAP Steering Committee Meeting Held

The 10^th TREMAP Steering Committee was held on June 6, 2012 at International Business Development Centre (IMDC), IIM Ahmedabad. The meeting was held in association with National Innovation Foundation (NIF) to facilitate direct interaction of the TCFAs with innovators and they demonstrated the prototypes of their respective innovations to the participants.  The Vice Chairman of NIF Prof Anil Gupta introduced the new innovations to the TCFs. The committee reviewed the progress of the various Technology Commercialization Facilitation Agencies. Ms. Surya Thankam. S, Technical Officer and Mr. Varun, Jr Technical Officer, T-TBI presented the progress of Technopark TCFA before the committee.

INSPIRE Session – Market Opportunities in Australia

The Nineteenth INSPIRE Session, an Interaction with  Mr. Roshen Paul ,Senior Manager,Australian Trade Commission organised by Group of Technology Companies(GTech) in partnership with Technopark TBI was held on May 28, 2012 at Board room,Technopark. He addressed the gathering on the Market Opportunities in Australia and made a Presentation on forging partnerships with Australian SME’s.   Representatives from more than 25 companies participated in the event. Mr. Manoj Dethan, Director, Kreara Solution, Mr. Ajith Kumar, Director, Exalt Integral Solutions, Dr. KCC Nair, Secretary and Registrar, T-TBI, Mr. M. Vasudevan, Senior Manager- Business Development, Technopark, Mr. Binu Sankar, CEO, GTech were present during the session.

Training Held for Cluster Scheme ISO Certification

The Phase I of the cluster program for ISO 9001:2008 quality certification of incubatee companies of T-TBI is progressing .The consultants for the programme M/S Empower Global along with T-TBI conducted an Internal Auditor training for the quality team from the cluster of companies participating in the first phase.30 Participants attended the session which was held on May 8, 2012 at Malabar Hall, Technopark. M/s. Empower Global Management Solutions (EGMS) has been empaneled as the QMS implementation consultant to Technopark TBI Companies for ISO 9001:2008 Certification Scheme under Cluster Scheme.

Light Logics showcased in the 3rd Indo – Arab Business Summit

Light Logics Holography and Optics, was showcased in the 3^rd Indo-Arab Partnership Conference which was held during May 22 – 23, 2012 in Abu Dhabi. The Company is the sole Indian Company selected to be showcased in the SME sector. The summit aims at active business cooperation and exchange of technologies of importance to both India and the Arab countries.

Dr.P.T.Ajith Kumar, President and Leading Scientist of Light Logics will be delivering the launch lecture on Light Logics before the set of invited delegates that includes several ministers and leading businessmen from various Arab countries.

With the Increased use of lasers and light based technologies in various avenues of information communication technologies, and the global spread of counterfeiting and insurgent activities, the products and technologies of Light Logics are having much relevance in the Arab region and it was based on the above facts that the Company got the rare honour to be showcased in this leading event.

Workshop for Pravasi Returnees

A workshop on the rehabilitation of the Pravasi returnees organised by NORKA ROOTS was held on April 25, 2012 at Olympia Chambers, Chandrasekharan Nair, Trivandrum. Shri. V.S Shivakumar, Hon’ble Minister for Health, Govt of Kerala, Shri.KC Joseph, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, I&PRD, Culture & NORKA were present and Shri Abdul Rahman Randathani MLA, Chairman, Legislative Committee for Pravasi Welfare, Shri.PMA Salam Ex MLA, Chairman, Pravasi Kshemanidhi Board were the Guest of Honour. Technopark TBI had a stall at the venue to display the various schemes for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. Mr.Arshad and Varun, Jr. Technical Offer were present. A session by Mr. Sreejith, T-TBI and Mr. Akhil Krishnan, Inovation Lab on IT Incubation Scheme for the Pravasi’s was also engaged during the programme

Minister Visits Technopark TBI

Shri. K. P. Mohanan, Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Govt of Kerala visited Technopark TBI on May 10, 2012. He was on informal visit to the incubator. He met Mr.Girish Babu, Chairman, Technopark TBI, Dr. KCC Nair, Secretary and Registrar and the TBI Staff. The minister listened to the activities of the Incubator to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the state which was explained by Dr. KCC Nair. He also visited the TBI facilities like the Project Facilitation Centre, TSECC Software Testing and Certification Centre, electronic lab, mobile lab etc.

Enfin Technologies enters Incubation

Enfin Technologies new premise at the T-TBI was inaugurated by Dr. K C Chandrashekharan Nair, Secretary and Registrar, T-TBI. Enfin Technologies was founded by budding entrepreneurs Ayyappan Asokan (CEO) and Syamkumar P J (COO).

Enfin Technologies had worked on an application to help smart phone users to live stream their videos on the move, using 3G data technology during the introduction of the 3G in the mobile segment. Their first product – OfaBee – a cross platform communication provider that can create a real-time network between mobile applications. OfaBee, can be run on Android, iOS and Windows Smartphone and they are planning to launch the first version of OfaBee by November 2012.

Telmoco Development Labs developing ‘Attitude Daksha Tab”

Telmoco Development Labs incubated by Technopark TBI plans to compete in the low-cost tablet PC market where the government-launched Aakash tablet is prominent. Attitude Daksha, touted as the most powerful 7-inch tablet computer for students and professionals, was launched here Tuesday. Dr.K.C. Chandrasekharan Nair, Secretary and Registrar, Sreejith.S, Technical Officer, Technopark TBI, Mr. Nijesh CR, Chairman of Board and Director  and Mr. Aadhith.K Bose, Director Telmoco were present.

Daksha features Capacitive 5 point touch screen with 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with 512 MB DDR3 RAM. Daksha is capable of 1080p full HD video streaming and has dedicated 400 MHzGPU for advanced flash Apps, Interactive Apps and full HD videos. Daksha is powered by 3,800 mAh li-Pol battery which gives a backup of over 6 hours with WiFi on.

Startup Village Launched

Indias first Telecom Incubator in public private partnership mode named the Start-up Village located inside Kinfra Hi-Tech Park in Kochi was inaugurated by Kris Gopalakrishnan, who co-founded Infosys as a start-up years back to trigger an IT revolution in the country. Kris, is also the chief mentor of Start-up Village. The incubator aims to groom 1,000 start-up firms over the next 10 years. Startup Village is being set up jointly up by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB) under the DST, GoI and the Kerala Government run Technopark, in collaboration with MobME Wireless.

The village will have a 4G network, advanced telecom labs and provide all services including legal, intellectual property and accounting help.A $10-million angel investment fund is also being set up under the guidance of KPMG to invest $50,000-$500,000 in high-growth startups.

Global Launch of Energy Management System Training

The global launch of Lead Auditor Course in Energy Management Standards (EnMS),  ISO 50001: 2011 jointly organized by Technopark TBI, Trivandurm, M/s.Intertek Moody and M/s.Empower Global Management Solutions; Kochi was inaugurated on April 9, 2012 at Technopark, Trivandrum by Dr. KC. Chandrasekharan Nair, CFO Technopark and Secretary and Registrar, Technopark TBI. Mr. Alosius Fernandes, Nationa Head- Training and Knowledge Management & Regional Director – Certification (South & East) , Intertek Moody,  Mr. Naveen Kaushal, Sr Manager (Audit and Training) & India Program Manager for Energy, Intertek Moody were present.

Participants from industry, academia, professional bodies are attending the 5 day training programme. The EnMS is expected to help organizations to manage their energy receipts and consumption efficiently and professionally improve their energy performance. This batch of Lead auditors in ISO 50001:2011 can spearhead initiatives in energy management in the country bringing benefit to the nation. M/s Empower Global Management Solution is the implementation partner to Technopark TBI for Quality Management System (QMS) implementation among the incubation companies under Cluster Scheme ISO Certification.
